more about v.r.t. pitt athletics

There's a growing body of research that links physical activity to improvements in educational achievement. That's because sport helps children develop character and to learn important social and brain skills such as problem-solving, resilience, perseverance, confidence and teamwork.

We believes that the life lessons sports teach children go far beyond the physical benefits. They actually contribute to higher grades and academic success too. They'll also be useful to them later in life in the workplace.

We have a Foundation phase athletics day, which includes Gr. R-3. Not only do they compete in running events but fun activities are also incorporated to establish the love of sport and good sportsmanship.

Further we have a Gr.4-7 athletics day that includes both track and field items. Learners have the opportunity to compete in the Dorps byeenkoms and then further at district- and provincial meets. We strive for inclusion and participation of all.
