Situated in the third oldest town in South Africa, V.R.T. Pitt Primary school was built in response to the desperate need for another primary school in the fast growing population of Railton, Swellendam.

V.R.T. Pitt was a far away dream of the namesake Mr. V.R.T. Pitt, the then Principal of Bontebok Primary School. Seeing the need for relief for ever expanding Bontebok Primary School and the the Railton community this dream became a reality in 2016 and the school was built by the WCED and the community of Railton.

The pioneer team of 21 teachers and 655 learners formed and built the school into what it is today, a beacon of excellence, hope and strive in the community of Railton.

A team of dedicated staff and a leading Principal strive towards quality education for all. We focus not only on the growth of young minds but the growth of future leaders and contributing citizens of our community, focused on giving back to the home where they are from.

We realize the big task to uplift ourselves and those around us and therefore always “add perfectum” and strive to reach perfection in ourselves, our potential and build up those around us.
