Our foundation phase consist of a dedicated team of educators and have the following number of classes per grade:
4 Grade R classes
5 Grade 1 classes
4 Grade 2 classes and
4 Grade 3 classes.
This team is well qualified and most importantly has a love for children and the development of the young mind. Our school's language of instruction and learning is Afrikaans, but we try to accommodate and support all learners and their educational needs.
The CAPS curriculum forms the basis of the knowledge, skills and values that the learners need for learning. Our goal is to teach the learners so that they can develop holistically, mind body and soul with our value-driven system in place.
Learners are taught and are assessed continuously in the following subjects:
Afrikaans Home language
English First Additional Language (excluding grade R)
Mathematics
Life Skills
Assessment is based in Standard bases Assessment plan and takes place continuously through formal and informal assessment tasks, activities and observation that are scored according to a 7-code scale.
Parents receive formal reports and feedback at the end of each term.
Learners who need intervention and extra support are identified after each assessment and then they receive the necessary support.
A well rounded, well equipped and dedicated team, the Intermediate and Senior phase educators have a passion for learning and the learners. This phase has:
4 Grade 4 classes
3 Grade 5 classes
3 Grade 6 classes and
4 Grade 7 classes.
The same as the Foundation phase our language of teaching and learning is Afrikaans, but great care and help is given to the learners that does not have Afrikaans as a home language.

V.R.T. Pitt Primary School has a full time learner support teacher at school. She makes a valuable contribution to the learners, teachers and community.
She provides the following assistance at school:
Provides supplementary teaching to learners who require additional support.
Conducts scholastic assessments
Runs an after school reading program
Liaise with staff, parents and other stake holders to provide support to learners
Works in collaboration with the Educational district
